"When the buildings were finally completed, we had a very special occasion to name the buildings. The night of the dinner, Mr. DeMare stood up. When they presented him with the award of the building, he made the statement that 'The County College of Morris doesn't owe me a thing- I owe it everything.', and with that, on the stage, in front of several hundred people, he just passed out and died, literally on the spot. It was something I'll never forget, and I don't think anyone who was there will forget it either."
