"The bongo board was one of
the things that we did back then for skiing, to get balance and
agility. It was a round, six-inch diameter, maple 'ball' if you
will, and a board sits on top of it. And you jump on top of it
and balance. We all bought them, and we had contests, who could
stay up the longest, who could eat lunch on the bongo board. I
mean it was just one of those crazy things that you did to pass
the time between classes. And everybody did it. You could not go
in the cafeteria and not be coaxed into hopping onto a bongo
board."
