Thousands of demonstrators march to the United Nations Building
in New York City to bring to light the plight of the starving

Democrats meet in Chicago, Illinois to choose the democratic
candidate for president. Hubert Humphrey (1759 votes) receives
the nomination over Eugene McCarthy (601 votes) and George
McGovern (146 votes).
