 Radical feminist, Valerie Solanes, shoots Andy Warhol in his studio, The Factory, in New York. Warhol is in critical condition, but will survive the incident.

JUNE 5: ROBERT KENNEDY ASSASSINATED*

During his run for the democratic nomination for president, Kennedy is shot and killed by Sirhan Sirhan, a 24 year old Palestinian. Sirhan was captured at the scene.

JUNE 16: AUTOMATIC TELLER MACHINE INVENTED*

The first modern, networked ATM is invented in Dallas, Texas by Don Wetzel.

JUNE 16: U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP*

Pro golfer, Lee Trevino from California, wins the US Open at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.

JUNE 18: CCM SIGNS BUILDING CONTRACTS

Papers are signed for the construction of new Academic Science Buildings on the County College of Morris campus.

JUNE 24: POOR PEOPLE'S MARCH*

The march is meant to bring to the forefront the plight of the nation's poor. Demonstrators march from all areas of the nation and converge on Washington DC where they occupy part of the capitol, bringing about violence and clashes with the police.
